Cardiac by-pass surgery
Cardiovascular bypass surgery is a surgical procedure used to redirect the flow of blood around a section of an artery in the heart that is completely or partially blocked.
A heart bypass helps to improve blood flow to the heart muscle by creating a new pathway for the blood to flow through.
This complex but well-established surgical technique is used when the heart's coronary arteries become narrowed or completely occluded as a result of atherosclerosis or other pathologies.
Medica S.p.A. has developed a wide range of Hemoconcentrators for adult/paediatric use in Cardiovascular Surgery.
