Capsule filters
The capsule membrane filter is a semi-finished product particularly suitable for microbiological water protection, as a complement to other filter systems. The most common use is in Carbon Block filters, as well as in portable filtration systems for use in emergency situations, for hiking in general to ensure a safe water supply where access to sanitation facilities is not possible, with the highest retention performance on the market.
Thanks to the performance of the two membranes used, Medisulfone® for ultrafiltration (0.005 microns) and Versatile-PES® for microfiltration (0.15 microns), the Mediapure in-Capsule filter range offers maximum microbiological water protection.
Both membranes have the highest levels of bacterial retention (11 LRV) compared to similar products available on the market. The Medisulfone® membrane, designed for ultrafiltration of water for dialysis, also has high viral retention (8 LRV) and endotoxin retention (5 LRV), making the filter suitable for use with brackish water, rainwater, well water, surface water, etc.
By 2023, a new generation of filters (Graphil) will incorporate the membrane filtration with the adsorption properties offered by graphene to filter out emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals and PFAS (harmful perfluoroalkyl substances), in response to the requirements of the new directive on the quality of water intended for human consumption (UE 2020/2184).
