One of the most critical elements for hotels and catering is undoubtedly the requirement to provide their customers with high-quality drinking water, which must therefore be free from solid impurities, microplastics, viruses, bacteria, endotoxins, and moulds and algae which can grow inside pipework spontaneously or due to infiltration or faults in the public water main or private pipework within residences themselves.
The entire range of MediaPure filters, available with ultrafiltration (MediSulfone®) and microfiltration (Versatile-PES®) membranes have been designed for simple and effective installation on the cold water supply lines for kitchens, water dispensers, reverse osmosis systems, and coffee machines or ice makers.
The range of MediaPure filters with ultrafiltration or microfiltration membrane are available with various types of parallel-thread cylindrical fittings (BSPP) ½” or 3/8”, or with John Guest push-fitting for ¼” pipe (OD 6.35 mm), they can be supplied sterile.
The range of solutions also includes dedicated filter cartridges supplied as partly completed equipment to be incorporated within the main water purification filters, typically carbon block filters.
By 2023, a new generation of filters (Graphil) will incorporate the membrane filtration with the adsorption properties offered by graphene to filter out emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals and PFAS (harmful perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances), in response to the requirements of the new directive on the quality of water intended for human consumption (2020/2184 EU).
