Environmental
Medica expresses the most prestigious results in the study of new technologies, starting with the major investments made by the group in solar panels installed on all sites for a total of 441 kW and the total recovery of solvents and water from the hollow fibre membrane extrusion processes:
- to purify tap water using a new generation of graphene-enriched filters to combat emerging contaminants and reduce the use of plastic bottles (Graphil project);
- to purify water from emerging contaminants using adsorption filters made from the recovery of hollow fibre membrane offcuts (Life Remembrance project).
Medica S.p.A. is a partner in the Graphene Flagship, the EU's flagship initiative for Graphene research, and coordinates the Graphil project through a network of industrial and academic partners, including the Italian National Research Centre (CNR) and the Universities of Chalmers (SW) and Manchester (UK).
